REGION 10 GIFTED YOUTH
Regional support and collaboration for Mensa families across Florida and parts of southern Georgia.
Region 10 supports local Gifted Youth programs, connects families across groups, and shares resources throughout the region.

Spanning from southern Georgia through the full length of Florida, Region 10 connects Mensa’s Gifted Youth and families from Valdosta to the Florida Keys. Our goal is to support local programs, strengthen connections across groups, and share resources that help families feel engaged at both the local and regional level.
Have an idea, a question, or not sure where to start? You can contact the Region 10 Gifted Youth Coordinator at giftedyouth@palmbeach.us.mensa.org.
What does regional support actually mean?
Regional support exists to connect, coordinate, and strengthen local Gifted Youth programs, not to replace them. The Regional Gifted Youth Coordinator (RGYC) works behind the scenes to support local coordinators, share resources, and create opportunities for gifted youth and families to connect across a wider geographic area.

This includes helping local groups build or revitalize their programs, sharing best practices, communicating about regional or national opportunities, and facilitating virtual events that allow youth to engage beyond their immediate community. Regional support is especially valuable for families in areas with fewer local activities or limited access to in-person events.

When should I contact the Regional GYC instead of my local group?
Families should always start with their local Gifted Youth Coordinator for questions about local events, activities, or group-specific policies.

You may want to contact the Regional GYC if:
-
Your local group does not currently have a Gifted Youth Coordinator
-
You’re unsure who your local contact is
-
You’re looking for opportunities beyond your local chapter
-
You live in an area with limited local programming
-
You’re interested in virtual or regional-level Gifted Youth activities
-
You’re a local volunteer or coordinator looking for guidance or support
The Regional GYC works collaboratively with local leaders and can help route questions, provide context, or offer additional options when local resources are limited.

What opportunities exist beyond my local chapter?
Beyond local events, regional opportunities may include virtual programs, shared initiatives, and cross-group connections that allow gifted youth to meet peers with similar interests across Florida and southern Georgia.

These opportunities can include virtual meetups, collaborative projects, informational sessions, or pilot programs designed to reach youth who may not be able to attend in-person events. The Regional GYC also helps share information about national Mensa Gifted Youth programs and other enrichment opportunities that local groups may not always be able to promote independently.

Availability of regional opportunities may vary, but the goal is always the same: to expand access, connection, and support for gifted youth—no matter where they live.
