Get ready to stomp through prehistoric times with the newest tale from Sophia's Story World! In her fifth fun-filled article, Junior Journalist Sophia (age 8!) takes us on a dinosaur adventure featuring earth-shaking giants like Sauroposeidon, sky-high stats from Argentinosaurus, nurturing facts about Maiasaura, and the surprisingly tiny-brained but massive Diplodocus.
Hello, my readers! Welcome for the fifth time to Sophia's Story World. Today I will talk about some awesome dinosaurs.
First up is Sauroposeidon. This dino is named after the Greek god of the seas and earthquakes, and for a very good reason too - when a Sauroposeidon went for a walk, the ground would literally shake.
Sauroposeidon could also raise its head 56 feet above the ground, which is as tall as three giraffes stacked on top of one another. Aren't those facts cool?
Next up is Argentinosaurus. These dinos are believed to have weighed more than 100 tons, making them weigh as much as one medium-sized airliner. That makes them the 2nd heaviest animal that ever lived, after just the blue whale.
Third here is Maiasaura. Its name means "good mother lizard" in Greek. These dinos lived during the late Cretaceous in herds. Maiasaura probably wasn't as tall as you think. These guys were 8.2 feet tall. Maiasaura were herbivores, meaning that they only ate plants.
Last up is Diplodocus. This dinosaur is unique, for its tail was estimated to be around 55% of their whole body length. Their brains were very small. People have estimated their brains to weigh about 4 ounces. That's very small.
