Nine-year-old Elizabeth has been to Kennedy Space Center twice — once with her family, once on her fourth grade field trip — and she has thoughts. The bus tour is a must. The Shuttle Launch Experience is incredible. And the clam strips in Titusville on the way home? Also apparently worth mentioning. Elizabeth's full report is in.
Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you about my trips to Kennedy Space Center! I have gone 2 times, and each time has been different. First I went with my family last Summer and this year I was able to go on the fourth grade field trip at my school.
As soon as we arrived at Kennedy Space Center with my family, we were greeted by a person dressed up like an astronaut. We were also able to see different rockets that are displayed outside. Once we entered, we walked to take the bus tour because it gets very packed as it is one of the main attractions. I highly recommend doing the bus tour. It was amazing! It is sort of like a hop on and off bus that takes you to different buildings and you get to experience different things.
My favorite part of visiting Kennedy Space Center was experiencing the Shuttle Launch Experience at the Space Shuttle Atlantis in the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. You get to experience a motion simulator that mimics the eight-and-a-half minute ascent into outer space! It is incredible!
Lastly, I loved going with my friends this school year on the fourth grade field trip. We had to arrive to school very early in the morning and then took a big air conditioned bus to Kennedy Space Center. We did so much that day and I was exhausted! On the way back we stopped to eat at the famous Dixie Crossroads Restaurant in Titusville. I had the clam strips!
