Welcome to Sophia’s Story World—where science meets imagination! In this edition, we’re diving into the Periodic Table to explore three mighty metals: Titanium, Cobalt, and Nickel. From jet engines to vitamins to artificial limbs, these elements pack a powerful punch in both science and everyday life.
Hi! Welcome to Sophia's Story World. Today we'll talk about some of the Periodic Table elements.
First up is Titanium. Titanium is a member of the transition metals group. Did you know that Titanium can be used to make artificial limbs? It's true! Titanium's capable of resisting corrosion, so it is very important in medical applications.
Next up is Cobalt. Cobalt can be used to make permanent magnets, or magnets that do not need electricity to work. Cobalt is also a part of the vitamin B12, which makes it important in a biological way. Cobalt can also be used to make jet-engine blades. That's a lot of things Cobalt is used for!
Third here is the element Nickel. Nickel's name comes from the German word "Kupfernickel" that means "devil's copper". Pure Nickel doesn't rust, so it is used to cover metal things to protect them from corrosion.
